Dual Technology Portfolio: TOPCon and BC Powering Next-Generation PV

Addressing diverse project requirements in high-irradiance regions, GCL showcased a dual-technology product portfolio at WFES 2026:

l  N-type TOPCon modules, optimized for utility-scale and commercial applications, delivering high efficiency, strong bifacial gains, and proven reliability under extreme heat;

l  Advanced BC modules, featuring a front-side busbar-free design that enhances light absorption, aesthetics, and power density—well suited for premium distributed and specialized applications.

This complementary technology strategy enables GCL to provide optimized solutions across utility-scale, commercial, and high-end distributed PV scenarios, supporting the Middle East’s rapidly diversifying solar market.

TÜV Rheinland–Certified TOPCon Modules Built for Harsh Environments

The TÜV Rheinland certification applies specifically to GCL’s latest-generation high-efficiency N-type TOPCon modules, confirming their compliance with IEC and other international standards, as well as their suitability for Gulf-region market access requirements.

The Middle East, particularly the UAE, combines world-class solar irradiation with challenging conditions such as high ambient temperatures, sandstorms, and coastal humidity. To address these challenges, GCL’s TOPCon modules integrate industry-leading passivated contact and edge passivation technologies, significantly enhancing conversion efficiency while ensuring stable output under sustained thermal stress.

Quad-Cut TOPCon Design Enhances Power and Reliability

A key technical highlight at the exhibition was GCL’s innovative quad-cut (four-segment) TOPCon module design. By optimizing cell segmentation and circuit architecture, the design increases power output while substantially reducing internal electrical losses and hot-spot risk.

Improved thermal management enables consistent performance in desert and coastal climates, making the certified TOPCon modules particularly suitable for large-scale solar parks and long-term energy infrastructure projects across the Middle East.

“Carbon Chain” Strategy: Certification as a Core Pillar

The TÜV Rheinland certification represents more than product validation—it forms a critical component of GCL’s long-standing “Carbon Chain” strategy. This holistic approach focuses on managing and reducing carbon footprints across the full lifecycle of PV products, from raw materials and manufacturing to logistics, deployment, and end-use operation.

Through internationally recognized third-party certification, GCL ensures transparent, objective verification of performance and reliability, reinforcing trust across the value chain. This technology-plus-certification model positions GCL’s low-carbon modules as reliable enablers for customers pursuing long-term sustainability and ESG objectives.

Strengthening Presence in a Strategic Growth Market

With Middle Eastern countries accelerating renewable energy development through policy support, large-scale tenders, and long-term power purchase mechanisms, demand is rising for PV technologies that deliver high reliability, extreme-environment adaptability, and lifecycle value.

By showcasing both TOPCon and BC innovations and achieving TÜV Rheinland certification for its TOPCon modules, GCL continues to strengthen its strategic footprint in the Middle East, supporting the region’s transition toward a resilient, affordable, and low-carbon energy future.
